IntoAfrica is based and managed in Sheffield, England. We have partner companies in Kenya (IntoAfrica Eco-Travel Kenya), and Tanzania (Maasai Wanderings) who run our trips in their respective countries.  We are:

Patrick Wanjohi (Kenya)
I have been involved in adventure travel for a lifetime. As a Kikuyu from the slopes of Mt Kenya I'm fiercely proud of the forests and peaks and passionate about their conservation. As a senior member of the Kenya Association of Tour Operators, I direct many educational safaris, run our Mountain Rock Hotel, am patron of the Burguret Youth for Conservation Group, and recently headed the international  “Conserve Mt Kenya Project”.
Naseeb Ismail (Tanzania), Donna Duggan (Australia)
Nas grew up in Arusha and much time spent in the bush with his grandfather evolved into a passion for conservation. Now a qualified guide, he feels most at home out in the wilderness. Donna grew up in Brisbane but got ‘itchy feet’.  Africa called and as a nurse she was running immunisation clinics and HIV education classes. Her experience in healthcare/community projects and passion for wildlife combined fruitfully - to provide an income and give work to locals who would otherwise be unemployed. Their son is named Rami.
Chris Morris (UK)
Dividing my time between Kenya and England I have had a love affair with Africa for almost twenty years. In that time I've trekked extensively throughout East Africa, learned passable Kiswahili and now have two children with my Maasai wife - and we've just adopted two more Kenyan girls. My background covered science education, social work, rock climbing and research for Lonely Planet travel guides. I've been running treks and safaris since 1988.

Some of our key staff include:

Dennis Lyamuya
Dennis was born, educated, and began work as a cook on Kilimanjaro before he joined us. It was soon clear that as well as culinary, he had exceptional interpersonal skills. A year in wildlife college and hotel management training gave him the "knowledge" which combined with his gentle and charming character plus the experience of some 90 safaris now make him our most popular guide in Tanzania.
Rimas Tankile-Morris
Rimas is one of few Maasai women to qualify as a teacher. She used to facilitate our links with schools and arrange visits to Maasai communities in the Mara area. She is currently studying Community Development at University of Sheffield in the UK, with the aim of returning to Kenya to raise awareness of FGM and women's education and development issues.
Oforo Masamu
Born in Marangu at the edge of the forest, Oforo started on Kilimanjaro as a porter. Then 3 years apprenticeship as assistant guide - now 10 years and 200 ascents later he "knows the mountain like his own name". Our clients often comment that his gentle strength, confidence and personal attention have given them just the encouragement needed for that last push to the summit
Rebecca Andeka
Originally from Western Kenya she took a degree in Travel and Tourism at Moi University in the Rift Valley.  "I love to take people through this land of love, life and adventure with an African touch". Speaks and writes fluently in English, French, Swahili and Luhya. Kenyan women often need to work twice as hard as men to reach the same goal so we know we have a top guide!
Elijah Kariuki
From Central Kenya, trained for a year with the Wildlife Club of Kenya as a guide, then spent 6 months as a teacher of conservation issues at Mount Kenya Game Ranch before joining us in 2004. "For me this work is like a continuation of my hobby - I really enjoy it"
Athuman Ababakari and Joseph Muthee
Two of our drivers and wildlife spotters. They know every track on the Serengeti and Maasai Mara - well almost.
Daniel Odongo
Leaving college with a first class degree in Wildlife Conservation he found temporary work as a guide. Some very satisfied clients sponsored a study year for him in the UK where he completed a Masters in Ecotourism at Kent University. Now he's moved into management and planning in our busy Nairobi office.
Solomon Kithinji
From the Meru district on the Eastern slopes of the mountain Solomon trained in 1989 as a guide with the American Outdoor Leadership School. He discovered "a love of nature that had been a stranger before".
Muruthi & George Waweru
Master and apprentice - our Landcruiser and Landrover maintenance mechanics.
Sammy Kamiri Njuguna
Trained as an ornithologist with a German naturalist - specialising in the rain forest birds of the Kakamega. A member of the Mt Kenya Guides and Porters club he also works as a leader on the mountain. Sammy has a remarkable ability to recognise birds from their songs.
Elias Isaya & Ludiger Mselewa
The two finest cooks in Tanzania - according to our clients. African dishes a speciality but also capable of cooking quiche-lorraine on an open fire "sufuria" oven - (if you really want to eat that in Tanzania) or a three course meal with vegetarian alternative at 3,500m on Kilimanjaro!
 Joas Kahembe
After retiring from the coffee industry Joas has been introducing visitors to the rural life and customs in his home area of central Tanzania for several years. From rock paintings to potteries and travels with nomads, he has worked with the locals to promote their cultural tourism potential.
